NECTAR VESSELS BRONZES
Created in collaboration with François Laffanour – Downtown Gallery, NECTAR VESSELS BRONZES is a series of 14 bronze vase-sculptures exploring the contrast between strength and delicacy, raw material and poetic refinement.
“I wanted to create vases that don’t need flowers. Through their form, presence and color, the vases become the flowers themselves.”
Matte, powdery surfaces absorb the light, while their openings reveal luminous interiors of polished pink bronze. Like flowers attracting bees, the forms draw the eye inward — towards an idea of nectar, richness and discovery.
The collection was brought to life in collaboration with the Fodor foundry in Port-sur-Saône. Though far from his usual medium, Van Assche approached bronze as he does fashion: by working closely with artisans, listening to their gestures, and respecting their craft.
The collection was first presented at Laffanour – Galerie Downtown, Paris, from June 26 to July 19, 2025, in an immersive installation conceived as an imaginary forest and a moment of silence suspended in time.
For Salone del Mobile 2026, the collection travelled to Fondazione Sozzani, Milan, April 19–26, 2026. The installation transformed the original idea of a contemplative pause into a new landscape: a moment above the clouds.
