3y=x+19-----> equation 2

substitute equation 1 in equation 2
3*[53-x]=x+19------> 159-3x=x+19----> 3x+x=159-19-----> 4x=140
x=140/4-----> x=35
y=53-x----> 53-35-----> y=18

the numbers are
35 and 18
