Solution:

Let number of clocks does Anne possess when she and Jane leave shop

         = p clocks

Number of Clocks possessed by Jane when she and Anne left shop

           =  2 p clocks

Number of clocks bought by Jane while travelling from garage to home

        = 4 clocks

Total Clocks does Jane possess currently = 10

→→→Expressing the above statement in equation form

→2 p + 4 = 10

→ 2 p = 10 - 4  [Bringing variable on Right side of equation]

→2 p = 6

→p = 3     ⇒ [Dividing both side by 2]

Number of clocks bought by Anne when she was in garage = 3 clocks
