The height of a trapezoid is 4 in and it’s area is 24 in2 one base of the trapezoid is 6 inches longer than the other base what are the lengths of the bases

Respuesta :

area of trapezoid:

[tex]area = height \times \frac{sum \: of \: bases}{2} [/tex]

[tex]24= 4 \times \frac{(x + 6) + x}{2} [/tex]

[tex]24 = 4 \times (x + 3)[/tex]

[tex]x =3[/tex]

So the bases are 3 and 9.
