Amy is a perfectionist and wants each piece of her cake to be exactly the same area. If the radius of her cake is 6 in and she wants to cut it into 10 pieces, what is the area of the top of each piece of cake? (Round to the nearest tenth)

Area of circle can be found by the formula A=[tex]\pi.r^{2}.[/tex] Where r is radius of circle and π = 3.14

Substituting the values of r and π Area of top of cake = 3.14[tex](6^{2})[/tex] =113.04 square inches .

Amy divides the cake in 10 parts.

Area of each piece=113.04÷10=11.304 square inches.

Area of each piece = 11.3 square inches(rounded to nearest tenth.)
