It is the Vice President’s job to present himself in such a
way to endorse a sense of unity in leadership and active interaction with
members of the party ticket. He is
chosen because his strengths complement the President’s. Even if he is under the president’s shadow,
if something were to happen to the president, he will be the next in line to
