The Domino Theory basically suggests that if one country in a region came under the influence of communism, other surrounding countries will follow in a domino effect.  During the 1950s to the year 1980s the theory was used by successive United States administrations during the cold war. This theory had helped the US to justify the need for American intervention around the world. President Eisenhower referred to this theory in one of his speeches when he referred to the communism in Indochina.

The domino theory talks about what happens after some while when one particular event occurs. Imagine you do thing x. This thing x then affects thing y which affects thing z ,etc. 

In essence, the domino theory revolves around the interconnectedness of many different things
