Here are two negative impacts of runoff:
1) Runoff can cause erosion
2) Runoff can carry contaminated water (ex: Waste from a farm) into rivers and streams
What happens during the process of transpiration is a plant absorbs water through its roots and then gives off water vapor through the pores in its leaves.
