Translation: when mRNA becomes a protein.

Codon: a set of 3 bases in mRNA that represents 1 of the 20 amino acids.

Codons of an mRNA join with corresponding codons of tRNA to create a complete sequence of amino acids joined by a peptide bond. Ribosomes release the chain of amino acids which then folds into a protein. The entire process is called Protein Synthesis
