-5x-2y=2
multiply 2nd equation by 2 and first by 5 and add them

10x+25y=80
-10x-4y=4 +
0+21y=84


21y=84
divide both sides by 21
y=4
sub back

2x+5y=16
2x+5(4)=16
2x+20=16
minus 20 both sides
2x=-4
divide by 2
x=-2
