There are 2286 respondents. The 43% meant that out of 100 people there are 43 who plays football. So for the basis of 2286, there are 982.98 people who plays football. That's 0.43(2286). Since we are talking about people and there is no 0.98 person, we have to round down. So there are 982 people who plays football. 

(192/2286)*100 = 8.4% plays hockey.
