So if we want the ratio of flour to butter in fraction form, we want the amount of butter to be on top: [tex] \frac{9}{ \frac{2}{3} } [/tex]
However, it needs to be in simplest form, which means not a complex fraction. To make it a simple fraction, multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator:
[tex] \frac{9}{1} * \frac{3}{2} = \frac{18}{2} = \frac{9}{1} [/tex]
So, the ratio of flour to butter is [tex] \frac{9 cups of flour}{1 cup of butter} [/tex] (the text in the fraction formatted weirdly, sorry about that)
