I think that they have the totally wrong idea of what while likely bring them closer, this mostly likely while have a opposite reaction thom what they think it will.

I believe that this situation would bring them further apart because first they're too busy with their own responsibilities to even communicate properly or even frequently, and they argue frequently; which is not a good environment for any infant to be place into, they also haven't even discussed if they're even ready for such an event or even if they're financially stable enough to support them, they just had a dog die which they had to pay for that medical expense ( depending on if they self-buried it or tried to save him first).

I believe the best place they should start is by getting a new dog and go from they're because they just are in they're right minds rushing into such an event thinking it would magically increase intimacy between them and bring them closer.
