Two trains start a journey at the same time 120 miles apart, travelling towards each other. The first train is travelling at 60 mph and the second train is travelling at 40 mph. How long does it take for the two trains to meet?

Respuesta :

AL2006

The space between them is shrinking at (60+40)= 100 mph. It started out being 120 miles. To shrink to zero will take

(120 miles) / (100 mph) = 1.2 hours

That's 1 hour and 12 minutes.
