Skin has three types of layers.

The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone.

The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands.

The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue.

The skin is the part pf the body that is in charge of providing warmth to the body, and also as a covering for protection.

There are three layers of skin which includes:

  • The epidermis
  • The dermis
  • The hypodermis

The epidermis is made up of waterproof material which helps to combine with the pigment in the skin to provide skin tone.

The dermis is the inner part of the skin which has the connective tissues that helps to attach the hair to the skin.

The hypodermis is the deepest layer of the skin which contains fat.
