Ibn Battuta writing reveals aspects of his character and his Islamic faith through his sound theological grounding which were inspired by open invitations and opportunities which enabled him to unite the spiritual and adventurous aspects of his personality. His travels took him to North Africa to East Europe, Middle East, South Africa, And Asia crossing over 75,000 miles in 29 years with a religious purpose to spread Islam and to complete one of the pillars of Islam which is the obligatory pilgrimage to Mecca, known as hajj where he visited severally as his focal point.
