ASAP PLEASE! WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST ANSWER! The pictures below show the wavelengths and intensities of electromagnetic radiations emitted by three stars, Star 1, Star 2, and Star 3. Image shows 3 blackbody curve graphs. Star 1 peaks at a wavelength of 8500A, Star 2 peaks at 6000A and Star 3 peaks at 3500A. Which of these is most likely to happen if Star 2 becomes cooler? its peak will rise higher than Star 1 its peak will rise higher than Star 3 it will look more like Star 3 it will look more like Star 1

Respuesta :

As per Weins displacement law the wavelength of light for which we get the peak of the graph is always inversely proportional to the temperature.

So we can say

[tex]/lambda = \frac{b}{T}[/tex]

So here if temperature becomes more cool then wavelength will increase

here we know that

[tex]\lambda_1 = 8500 A^o[/tex]

[tex]\lambda_2 = 6000 A^o[/tex]

[tex]\lambda_3 = 3500 A^o[/tex]

It means the hottest star out of all three is star 3

and coolest star is star 1

now if we star 2 becomes cooler then it means its temperature will go near to star 1 and hence it will more look like to star 1.

So correct answer is

it will look more like Star 1
