Tuomo Manninen /

Manninen’s men share a posture. They are the heroes of their own life. They make their life a story, a drama, a staged composition. They are motionless yet emotional. They pose. Pause between two dances. Frozen in time. They are perpetuating a momentum. They act out pride.

Yet Manninen’s men also tell us that the “we” of any particular working group – always leaves the men’s “me” untold, with the exception, possibly, of the one in the center. In the center of the circle, the stage, the life – trying to reach out and connect with the others.
